My Journey to Becoming a Children’s Author

I’ve loved stories for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I used to memorize books just by listening to my mom read them to me — again and again.

Years later, when I became a mom, I found myself reading more than ten books a day to my kids. And just like I did, they started remembering every word, even before they could read a single letter.

Storytelling has always been part of my life. Writing for children just feels like a natural next step — a way to share that same magic I grew up with. Writing for children is more than storytelling — it's about planting ideas that grow with them.

Behind the Scenes

Every book starts with a little spark — maybe a memory, a question, or just a feeling. From there, I write in a way that feels simple and musical, always imagining how the words will sound when read out loud.

I go through the text again and again, tweaking the rhythm, the rhyme, and the flow until it feels just right. Then comes the layout — figuring out how the words and pictures will live together on the page.

And finally, it’s time to bring it all to life with illustrations. This is where the story really starts to feel real, and everything begins to come together.
